Reimagining branding for the World Design Congress 2025, shaping a dynamic identity to transform the Barbican and elevate the experience for thousands of global delegates.

Our brief was to deliver a sustainable visual experience that reinforced the Congress brand, supported sponsors, and made navigation effortless for delegates. We created dynamic visuals that energised high-traffic areas, enhanced the atmosphere, and minimised waste through recyclable materials and low-impact production.

Guide

We brought a cohesive brand expression to life across the Barbican, ensuring the identity was experienced consistently at every touchpoint – from wayfinding and registration to digital screens and large-format displays. Online audiences also benefited, with the same dynamic identity extending seamlessly into the Congress’s digital platforms.

“Ahead of the World Design Congress, our challenge was to create a brand for London and for our crucial Design for Planet theme, one to galvanise and inspire the global design community. David, Larraine and the OPX team brought boundless vision and creativity, plus a deep understanding of our audiences, going the extra mile at every stage.
The visual identity they created transformed the Barbican Centre: the bold, bright colours made a challenging topic feel hopeful, and powerfully conveyed the possibilities of design. Their thoughtful approach extended beyond visuals to materials and production choices, ensuring the branding stayed true to the sustainable ethos. Without a doubt, we’d recommend OPX Studio, and working with such lovely people was the best bonus of all.”
